Larry E. Fairfield, Sr., 61, of New Richmond, formerly of Linden, died at Clarian Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Saturday Feb. 27, 2010.

Born in Crawfordsville on Sept.17, 1948, he is the son of Joseph Fairfield and the late Ann Durham Fairfield, he attended Thorntown schools…Class of 1970.

He married Janice L. Moore in Crawfordsville Oct. 3, 1987, and she preceded him in death Jan. 6, 2004. Mr. Fairfield had worked as an equipment operator for the city of Crawfordsville for 22 years, retiring due to ill health.

He enjoyed building demolition derby cars and participating in demolition derbys, as well as fishing and hunting. Surviving are three sons, Larry E. Fairfield, Jr. (wife Angie) of Thorntown, Samuel J. Fairfield (wife Jodi) of Crawfordsville, and Cody L.W. Fairfield of New Richmond, IN.; his father Joseph Fairfield of Lebanon, and a brother Robert Trinkle (wife Marilyn) of Lafayette. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tanner and Jaelyn Fairfield, and Michael, Zach and Johnny Decker. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 321 E. South St., Linden, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernon Dowell officiating.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, in North Salem.
