William Randel - Class Of 1953

William “Bill” K. Randel, 60, of Thorntown, IN passed on Friday, September 29, 1995, at his home after a short illness.

He was born February 25, 1935, in Boone County, the son of Frank Austin and Golda R. (Michaels) Randel.  His mother survives and resides in Lebanon, IN.  He married Barbara Fisher on November 12, 1953, in Rolling Prairie; she also survives.

Bill was recently retired from Lebanon Electrochemical Coating due to ill health, having previously worked at Lebanon IGA for twenty-three years.  A 1953 graduate of Thorntown High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran plus a member, elder and Sunday School teacher of Thorntown Christian Church.

In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are daughters Cindy (Roger) Schultz, Lafayette; Andrea (Tom) Klink, Eureka, IL; brothers Darrell Randel, Lebanon, and Larry Randel, Zionsville; and three grandchildren Caitlin Schultz, Kyle Schultz and Sarah Klink.  Bill also had several aunts and uncles, including Ilene (Michaels) and Virgil Lanpher.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 3rd , at 10:30 a.m. at Russell & Hitch, Thorntown, with the Revs. Don Hainer and Glen Jewell officiating.  Burial with military graveside rites will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.  Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 1995.
