Willard Cook - Class Of 1935

Willard Moser Cook was born April 16, 1917 in Noblesville, Indiana. And he graduated from Thorntown high School in 1935.  He was the son of Burnie Scott Cook and Pearl Edna Moser.   He died July 10 1992 in Thorntown and is buried in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in THorntown, IN.

Willard was married to June Christina Morrison September 2, 1939, also in Thorntown.

Willard and June were the parents of three children,  Carolyn Cook Gress, David, and Todd all of whom graduated from Thorntown High.

After attending pharmacy school in Indianapolis Willard returned to Thorntown and married June Morrison (Class of 1938).   He operated Cook's Drug Store for 48 years.

Randel's Pharmacy continued the fine tradition of this Thorntown institution for the next 30 years although without the Soda Fountain featuring Green Rivers and Cherry Phosphates everyone enjoyed--when they had 15 cents.

It was always fun to stop at the drugstore after school. Almost everyone headed there after school it seemed  It was always a friendly place and the green rivers were great and the cherry cokes were too.  When it was medicine you needed Willard would get it for you and explain the whole thing to you very nicely.  I have missed that old drugstore whenever I chance to get into Thorntown. When I was a little girl Willard had someone play Santa and the kids would line up to tell their secret wishes for Christmas.  I have always wondered who was wearing the suit.  Willard and June were good people.
