Nettie R. Gideon

July 9, 1953 - July 6, 2020

Nettie Rose Gideon, 66, went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 6, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 9, 1953; a daughter of the late George W. Gideon, Sr. and Rowena (Groves) Smith.

She graduated from Thorntown High School in 1971. Following school, Nettie worked at Streamline Trailer in Thorntown and Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon.

She attended GAP Community Church in Thorntown. Nettie was devoted to her family and adored all her nieces and nephews. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed doing genealogy with her sister, cooking, helping decorate the church for special occasions, taking care of her mother, jigsaw puzzles, taking care of her cats and reading.

Brothers: George (Susan) Gideon of Thorntown
Sam Gideon of Thorntown

Sisters: Mona (Floyd) Bennett of Thorntown
Rowena Osborne Morris of Indianapolis

Several Nieces and Nephews

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Nettie was preceded in death by stepfather, Russell Smith; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Osborne, Richard Morris and a niece, Trina Bennett.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at GAP Community Church, 202 South West Street, Thorntown, IN 46071.

Inurnment of Ashes will be held at a later date at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to GAP Community Church, 202 South West Street, Thorntown, IN 46071.

Myers & Hunt Mortuary in Thorntown and Boone County Crematory are handling her cremation arrangements
