Linda Morris (Coffman)

Linda J. Coffman, 81, of Thorntown, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon.  On August 27, 1943, Linda was born in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Vera (Vermillion) Morris.  She graduated from Thorntown High School. Linda married Gerald Coffman on March 31, 1961 in Kentucky, a loving union that lasted over sixty-three years. 

Linda had worked as a corrections transport deputy for many years and she had worked for Wal-Mart for 23 years. Her family was especially important to her and she loved spending time with her grandkids. She also enjoyed reading and was a member of the Beta Eta Esa Sorority. 

She is survived by her children, Debra Marie (Mike) Summers of Ladoga, Diane Michelle (Mike) Swank of Thorntown and Gary Wayne (Chelsy) Coffman of Crawfordsville; brother, Mike (Kay) Morris of Florida; grandchildren, Max (Christie) Summers, Ashlie (Matt) Hacker, Rebecca (Colby) Judy, Jessica Swank, Jared Swank, Joshua (Adrienne) Swank, Matthew Haniford, Michael Gill and Jenna Coffman and ten great-grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, brother, Wayne Morris, and great-granddaughter, Sophie Marie Judy. 

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, May 3, for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Linda will be laid to rest in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.  Memorial contributions in her memory may be made the Boone County Cancer Society, 1208 N Lebanon Street, Lebanon, IN 46052, or to Boone County Senior Services, Inc., 515 Crown Pointe Drive, Lebanon, IN 46052.
