Virginia Bragg (Way) - Class Of 1958

Virginia L. Way, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born February 10, 1940, in Cicero (Deming), Indiana, a daughter of the late Harold Eugene and Esther Lorraine (Williams) Bragg.

Virginia moved from Cicero to Sheridan to Frankfort and then at the age 11 her family moved to Thorntown. She was a 1958 graduate of Thorntown High School and went on to attend Indiana Business College.

On September 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Noah Sherman Way at Thorntown Wesleyan Church. They had 54 loving years of marriage together, he preceded her in death on December 23, 2013.

Virginia had worked as a bank teller at Home National Bank for 10 to 15 years. She had also worked part time at Randel Pharmacy in Thorntown for 12 years until the pharmacy closed.

Virginia was a faithful member of the Lebanon Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, being outdoors mowing her lawn and gardening. She also took great pride in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and being around her family.

Survivors include her children, Sandy J. Richardson of Lebanon, and Brad Douglas (Jana) Way of Thorntown; grandchildren, Ashley Renee (Josh) Small of Atlanta, Indiana, Tyler Adam (Carrie Ann) Richardson of Lebanon, Ryan Douglas (Cristen) Way of Thorntown, Collin Michael (Haley) Way of Texas, and McKenna Jane (Fiancé Tre’) Way of Thorntown; great grandchild, Charlie, Anderson, Porter, Rory and Raegan Way, Levi and Isaac Small, Colton, Lainey and Luke Richardson; and a sister, Betty Irene (Bob) Stambaugh of Colfax.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her sister Delores Lillian Anderson, and brother-in-law Jerry Anderson.

Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
