Blaine Nelson Martin, 77, passed away in his home with family by his side on Thursday, March 15, 2018.  He was the son of the late Clarence and Doris (Robinson) Martin. 

Blaine graduated from Thorntown High School class of 1958. He served six years in the National Guard and was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for Allison Transmission over thirty years.

He was married to Linda (Lanpher) Cooney. They later divorced, and she survives.

Blaine was a member of the American Legion Post 439 in Colfax and Life Member of the Lebanon Elks. He was a 32° Mason with 50-year membership in Indianapolis and also received his 50-year Mason Gold Award with Boone Lodge Number 9. He was a Murat Shriner and member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. 

Blaine enjoyed farming, fishing, working in his woods, and always took great pride and care of his land. 

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Ann (Rob) Hawkins of Lebanon, Shelby Diane (Chris) Taylor of Terre Haute: grandchildren, Blake Martin Hawkins of Lebanon and Haley Nichole Hawkins of Lebanon; companion for many years, Janis Hopwood of Lebanon.

In honor of his request, no public services will be held. Family and friends will gather at a later date for a private memorial service.
