Ralph Eugene White, 94, died on June 5, 2022 and lived at The Harrison Senior living Community. He was the widower of Betty Jean White (Russell). They shared many years of marriage. As he would say, “We were only married for 67 years.”
Born in Thorntown, IN, he was the son of Oscar and Edna White. Upon graduation he entered the Army and he served for nearly two years. He graduated from Canterbury College and Butler University. He taught math at Flackville Grade School, Rhodes Elementary School, and Ben Davis Junior High School.
He was a longtime member of Garden City Christian Church before transferring to Speedway Christian Church. He belonged to the Ben Davis Lions Club for many years and he was known for making pancakes at the pancake breakfasts.
He enjoyed gardening, golfing, storytelling, doing home improvement projects, and bragging about his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was so devoted to and so very proud of his family. He is survived by his children Joyce Hess, Carol (Mark) Stout, Gary (Colleen) White. He had 6 grandchildren Carey Munoz, Ryan Hess, Chris and Jamie Stout, Margery Gill and Marie Beaver and 11 great grandchildren Matthew, Marissa, and Benjamin Munoz, Nichole and Haley Gill, Andrew and Abigail Beaver, Luke and Jake Stout and Carter and Landon Hess.
