Rosie M. Strong 1930-2014 

Mrs. Rosie Mary Strong, 83, of Peru, formerly of Thorntown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Blair Ridge Home, Peru. Mrs. Strong was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Boone County, to the now deceased Abner Riley and Charlotte (Johnson) Riley.

She graduated from Thorntown High School in 1948. She was first married to Dave Wyant, who passed away. She then married James Strong on Dec. 9, 1961, in Thorntown. He died May 5, 2006.

Mrs. Strong was a homemaker who enjoyed her family. Her hobbies included cooking and crocheting.

Survivors include sons, David Wyant of Lebanon, John Strong of Peru and Phillip (Sue) Strong of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Jeff (Tia) Wyant of Thorntown and Kyle Strong of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Riley and Junior Riley; two sisters, Linda Corwin and Beverly Stockton; one son, Jimmy Strong; and one grandson, Davey Wyant. Services will be noon Sunday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown.
