Jack Lee Young

Jack Lee Young, 64, of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Lebanon.

Jack was born July 8, 1947, to Elmer and Edna (Barber) Young. Both parents are deceased.

He first married Janet Giles and they were divorced. He then married Maria Aguirre; they also divorced.

Jack worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for several years, retiring due to health problems.

He had a host of friends. He loved his children and grandchildren, and they were the love of his life.

Jack’s hobbies were fishing, hunting and camping.

In his early years, he was a member of the Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Lebanon Eagles 2062.

Survivors include four sons, Jeff Young and Jay Young, both of Lebanon, and Joseph Young and Jeremy (Angela) Young, all of Thorntown; six brothers and sisters, Patsy Nance of Lebanon, Eugene Young of Burlington, Vivian Sheets of Lebanon, Nancy Young of Texas, and Connie Vandeventer and Sam Young, both of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Brayton Young, Carli Reagan, Elliott Young and Peyton Young; and his companion, Vola Lynch.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 116 W. Plum, Thorntown. Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Thorntown, with Pastor Mike Goforth officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Eagles Cancer Society.

Peggy Pauline Barber (1968)

Jack was a great guy who loved all members of his family.  He was always willing to lend a hand if he could and was a wonderful cousin!  Rest in Peace Jack!
