Glenn D. Smith 1952-2013

Glenn D. Smith of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday at IU Arnett in Lafayette. He was 60. Mr. Smith was retired U.S. Air Force, serving from 1977 to 1994, stationed at Grissom Air Force Base. Following his discharge, he worked at Wabash National until present day. He was a 1970 graduate of Thorntown High School. Born Oct. 19, 1952. in Glasgow, Ky., he was the son of William Herbert Smith and Doris Geron Smith. He married Mara L. Badeaux on June 13, 1981. Survivors include his wife, Mara Smith; his mother, Doris Smith; son, Darrin Smith; daughter, Sandi Smith, sons, Jeremy (Danielle) Smith and Joshua (Rachael) Smith and daughter, Jessica Smith; one brother, Gregory D. (Ginny) Smith; and two sisters-in-law, Linda (Paul) Niggemann and Ardyth Janine (John) Wright, as well as seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in November 2006. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North with military rites by the American Legion and VFW.
