Charles Vansickle - Class Of 1968

 

Charles D. “Charlie” Vansickle, 60, of Bainbridge, and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. 

He was born April 9, 1950, in Thorntown, to Marvin Vansickle and Dee (Truax) Vansickle.

Charlie served his country in the United States Army, and had been employed at Uniroyal in Indianapolis; Lobdell-Oxford in Greencastle; I.A.C., formerly Lear, in Greencastle; and Great Dane in Brazil.

His father, an infant brother and an infant sister preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Vera; two sons, Todd Vansickle and companion Tammi Witt of Brazil and Brian Vansickle and wife Gena of Coatesville; his mother, Dee Vansickle of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Christina, Tyler and Grace; seven brothers, John and wife Bev of Thorntown, Raymond of Lebanon, Wayne and wife Betty of Whitestown, Pete and wife Ericka of Germany, Kenny of Indianapolis, Francis and wife Judy of Lancaster, Calif., and Ed of Lebanon; six sisters, Carol Ford and husband John of Thorntown, Katrina Whiteside and husband Jerry of Lebanon, Karen Vansickle of Rockville, Teresa Smith and husband David of Poland, Debbie Stone of Lebanon and Patsy Lang of Lebanon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy Julian Drive, Greencastle.
