Peggy Owens (Collett) - Class Of 1966

Peggy Lee Collett, 70 of Tipton, passed away at home on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Peggy was born September 12, 1948 in Kokomo, IN to James Lee and Audrey Elaine Owens, Jr. She was a 1966 graduate of Thorntown High School. While Peggy considered herself a homemaker, she had a variety of interests and work options. She was a residential property manager, she had antique booths in both Carmel and Noblesville and worked as a substitute teacher for the Westfield Washington Schools for 15 years. Peggy was a former member of Christ Community Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and was a 10-year member of City of Firsts Chapter of Harley Owners Group. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and boating on Dale Hollow Lake, and antiquing, but mostly, spending time with family. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31 at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, where a funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00 pm. Peggy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry; daughter, Vanessa Collett; mother, Audrey Elaine Krawczyk; step-sons, Kevin (Nicole) Collett, Julian “Chip” (Cindy) Collett and Kenneth (Tina) Collett; siblings, Marvin Owens, Denny (Patty) Owens, Kathy Owens, Jeanie (Brian) Harding, Connie (Jeffrey Penman) Owens, Lorie (Rob) Hunter, Rebecca (Dan) Threlkeld, James Lee (Leah) Owens, III, multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Lee Owens, II, siblings, Norma Smith, Dorwin Owens, Christopher Owens and her son, Josiah “JT” Collett.
