Charles Crouch - Class Of 1948

Charles Lonzo Crouch, 86, of Indianapolis passed away on June 11, 2017. He was born September 26, 1930 in Thorntown, Indiana to Harry L. and Elizabeth E. Granell Crouch. Charles graduated from Thorntown High School in 1948.  He served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from American Business College in 1956. He was a cost accountant for American Bearing Corporation, for 24 years, retiring in 1978.

 

Charles was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was the Past Grand Knight in 1997 – 1998 and 2002 - 2003, at the Knights of Columbus # 5290 and the American Legion, Post # 495. Charles received the Catholic Layman of the Year for Indiana in 1989. He was active as a coach with Bel-Est Little League and youth football for NYFA and RCIA at St. Lawrence and St. Simon Catholic Churches.

 

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Patricia A. Seal Crouch, children Daniel (Kay) Crouch, Mary (Tom) Neffle, Joyce (Roger) Emrich and Michael (Missy) Crouch, 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry L. and Elizabeth E. Granell Crouch, sisters Martha Crouch, Maxine Crouch Fairfield, Mary Jane Crouch Maiden, brothers Alva, Russell and Jack Crouch and a great grandson Gage Emrich. Charles is an uncle to Tom, Ron & John Maiden and also Martha Maiden Randel all Thorntown alumni.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 16 at 10 am at St. Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4 – 8 pm at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Charles' name may be made to Gibault Home for Boys, St. Jude Catholic Church or St Francis Hospice. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary.
