Wayne Vansickle - Class Of 1964

Wayne Vansickle

Wayne C. Vansickle, 78, of Whitestown, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2023. He was born on Dec. 28, 1944, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Marvin and Dee (Truax) Vansickle. Wayne married Betty J. Watts on Nov. 3, 1961, and she survives. 

 

Wayne worked for General Motors as a Tool & Die Maker for 30 years and retired in 1995. The joy in his life was his family and being a farmer for 50 plus years. Over the years, he helped his two children build their homes to start their own lives. Wayne enjoyed going to farm equipment auctions, along with watching his two grandchildren compete in sports and was an avid sports fan.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Vansickle; children, David and wife, Sandi Vansickle of Lebanon and Brenda Vansickle of Colorado; grandchildren, Tiffany Vansickle of Lebanon and Matthew Vansickle and wife, Gavi of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Zoey, Zion, and Stetson; and his brothers and sisters, Raymond (Cathie) Vansickle, Carol Ford, Katrina (Jerry) Whiteside, Theresa Smith, Francis (Judy) Vansickle, Karen Vansickle, Debbie Stone, Patricia Lang, and Ed Vansickle.

 

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Larry, Charles, and Kenneth.

 

Family and friends will gather Friday, Nov. 24, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Wayne will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
