January 3, 1955 - March 29, 2021

Paula Kay Smith, 66, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana on January 3, 1955; a daughter of the late Paul Robert "Robby" and Vera L. (Richwine) Smith.

She was a 1973 graduate of Thorntown High School and received her associates degree from Purdue University and an academic achievement diploma from PCI (Professional Careers Institute).

Paula was employed for many years with Conseco. Later she worked in various doctors' offices and for a title company in Lebanon. She attended Hope Community Church in Lebanon and was a member of the African Violet Club. She loved music, cooking shows, making and selling homemade soap and was an avid Colts fan.

Survivors include her sons: Chris (Fuatino) Slagle of Greencastle and Josh (companion, Addison Kinslow) Slagle of Thorntown; seven grandchildren, Myckahgafatasi, Taumaiaemevera, Mythiusfaatea, Maddenpapaitau, Majortinousi, Taimanelusia and Alister Allen; brothers-in-law, Darwin Brewer and Bob Straw; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Bob) Smith-Correll of Jamestown; nieces and nephews, Dawn Brewer Montgomery, Dena Brewer Stout, Douglas Brewer, Melissa Smith Rolf, Melody Smith Thomas and Matt Smith.   Paula was the last survivor of her siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Smith and sisters, Marcia Straw and Donna Brewer.


Visitation is planned for Monday, April 5, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at the funeral home in Lebanon. For those unable to attend, Myers Mortuary will have live streaming on Myers Mortuary Facebook page. Interment will follow services at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon.
