Janet (Gant) Neff

Janet Kay (Gant) Neff, 81, of McCordsville, passed away May 10, 2021. She was born July 9, 1939, in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late Carl and Avis Gant. Janet was a graduate of Thorntown High School Class of 1957 and received her bachelor's degree in Education from Hanover College.

She married Henry "Hank" Neff, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2019, after 56 years of marriage. Janet was a teacher at New Milford High School in New Milford, New Jersey, for nearly 30 years prior to her retirement and return to Indiana.
Janet was an extremely loving, caring and giving person. She never met a stranger and loved talking with people and making new friends everywhere she went. She always wore a smile on her face and had a kind word for everyone. An avid reader, she also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, shopping and lunch with friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel located at 9900 Allisonville Road.

Janet is survived by her children, Carrie (Joe) Patterson and Carl (Allison) Neff; granddaughters Ansley, Lillian, Rosalie and Audrey; and siblings Donald Gant, David Gant and Suzanne Stevens. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Gant and Dennis Gant.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
