Marvin Willis White

NOVEMBER 24, 1925 – FEBRUARY 25, 2022

Marvin W. White, age 96, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many, went to his heavenly home on February 25, 2022 in Bradenton, Florida. Born on November 24, 1925 in Thorntown Indiana to Charles Oscar and Edna White. Marvin is survived by his wife Nancy and his children and their spouses Jeff White, Cindy Watts, Joy (Paul) Bogacz, Mitzi (Mike) McLaughlin. Marvin enjoyed his role as a grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.

Marvin grew up in Thorntown, Indiana (THS Class of 1943) and attended Purdue University until he was called to serve our country in World War II. He served in the Army. When returning from the war, he finished his degree at Canterbury College. Marvin spent his professional years as a teacher of mathematics, school administration and coaching. He had a love for all things sports.

After relocating to Florida in 1980, Marvin and Nancy became active at the Christian Retreat (The Family Church) where Marvin was an elder. Marvin was actively involved with the Manatee “West” Camp Chapter of The Gideons International.

Marvin had a passion to follow Jesus and to play golf. He was playing golf 3 times a week at age 95.

The service will be held Thursday March 3, 2022 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Avenue East Bradenton Florida 34203. Visitation begins at 1:00pm followed by a Service at 2 pm. The burial will take place at The Sarasota National Cemetery on March 9 at 12:30 pm.
